Frailty is a condition related to the ageing process where multiple systems within the body loses its reserve increasing the risk to a sudden change in health triggered by minor stresses for example an infection or fall.

People with frailty have an increased risk of falls, disability, delirium, long term care and death. Health care systems are now challenged to manage people within the different stages of frailty to maintain and support their own health (NHS England 2014, BGS 2014).

The integration and use of technology within healthcare offers significant benefits in both primary and secondary care settings. These benefits can extend across nursing practice from improving person centered care to enhancing daily workflows. Providing educational tools that empower and guide nursing staff through this digital revolution is critical and will help facilitate successful incorporation and safe implementation of technologies within nursing, by nurses.
