"Hi I am RITA"
I offer invaluable support to both carers and those that you are caring for, I am a simple to use interactive tablet device offering therapeutic support to older individuals and people living with Dementia.
My job is to enable you to re-connect with your loved one when it might not seem possible to do so anymore. Aided by reminiscence content to spark lost memories or creative activities, books and quizzes to stimulate the brain or fun and simple games to entertain, you have a wealth of therapeutic content to recapture relationships and reduce challenging behaviours.
I am designed to engage, boost cognitive stimulation, relax, alleviate boredom and prompt conversation which enhances quality of life & wellbeing. RITA has been reported to reduce behaviours that challenge, incidences of falls, safeguarding incidents and the use of anti-psychotic medications. Nutrition and hydration rates have also been reported to improve when using RITA
I can be used on a one-to-one basis and independently. I have been designed to be extremely simple to use; so much so that I have some lovely ladies and gentlemen who are over 100 years of age and many hundreds with advanced dementia interacting with me independently. You will find me easier to interact with than your mobile phone!
