Treating the elderly in hospital can often be a frightening experience for them and one which can cause extreme agitation when arriving through the doors of A & E particularly when the person is presenting with a potentially life threatening condition.

The ability to calm a person in the A & E setting can help Clinicians make an informed diagnosis quickly and often lead to a situation where the person can go home with their family and be treated via a community setting.
